SLS Hydraulic Multiplier

Installation Instructions – Steel Model

Your hydraulic pump and implement hydraulics must be in good working order.

1. Mount and Connect the Multiplier:

Mount the Multiplier using the mounting bolts through the valve (provided).

Remove the plastic plugs on the side of the Multiplier and screw in two ORB fittings with O-rings and hoses.  Connect the two hydraulic hoses to the existing remotes.  For best operating results connect the pressure hose to the top fitting on the Multiplier, the return hose to the bottom fitting (see diagram).

2. Attach the Control Handle:

Remove the knob from the hydraulic control lever.  Loosen the 2 set screws on the Multiplier control handle clamp and slide the handle and clamp over the control lever.  The control handle switches should face towards the front. Tighten the set screws.

Solder or crimp a 16-gauge wire to the red wire coming from the Multiplier control handle.  Solder or crimp a ring connector to the other end of the 16-gauge wire.  Attach the ring connector to the bolt to the positive (+) terminal of a 12 (or 24V if using 24V solenoids) battery or other suitable energy source (See diagram)

Plug the connector of the black, blue, orange or green wire from the control handle into the same color wire’s connector on the Multiplier coil.  (See diagram for which color wire goes with which switch.)

Crimp a 16 gauge ground wire into the connector of the white wire on the Multiplier coil (see diagram).  Connect the other end of this wire to a solid ground such as the machine’s frame or negative (-) terminal of the battery.

3. Connect the Implement Hydraulic Hoses:

Connect the implement’s hydraulic hoses to the Multiplier just as if connecting them to the hydraulic pump’s outlets.  For best operating results connect the pressure hose to the top fitting on the Multiplier, the return hose to the bottom fitting (see diagram).

NOTE:  If your implement’s hydraulic cylinders are single acting then connect the single hose to the top (pressure) fitting of the Multiplier and plug the bottom (return) fitting.

4. Operation:

If the hydraulic control lever is moved, but no switch on the control handle is pressed, the hydraulic cylinder connected to the smaller Multiplier valve (“A” outlets on diagram) will be active.  The hydraulic cylinder connected to the larger valve (the “B” outlets) becomes active only when it’s control button is pressed.  With the Steel Multiplier only one hydraulic jack (function) can be used at a time.
